The Narrative Nurse Project is a narrative storytelling collective about the practice of nursing. Nurses sharing their stories have given permission and approval of the story they are sharing. Facts, identifying characteristics, names, dates, etc may be changed to protect the privacy of the people involved or included in the story.
Michelle Dedeo is an experienced & practicing registered nurse. She is a licensed clinical nurse specialist (CNS), educated with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP), and holds and maintains certifications in critical care, as an acute care clinical nurse specialist, neuroscience, stroke, trauma, and as a nurse educator. She is not licensed to prescribe medications and is not a nurse practitioner. Discussing and integrating evidence is a significant part of CNS practice. Always follow your facility's policies, procedures, and protocols.
Each nurse is responsible to know and understand the Scope and Standards of nursing practice established by the State Board of Nursing in the state where you practice and policies representing your organization.
